DDO, supporters, participants and
sponsors:
On behalf
of the Community Alliance Against Drugs, we would like to thank all of you for
your generous efforts towards the DDO. Over the past several years, we have
been one of the benefactors of the proceeds of this event, we have been able to
establish a scholarship fund for graduation Seniors from our 2 local High
Schools, West Allis Central and Nathan Hale. We award 8 scholarships per school
year, 4 to each respective High school to students intending on majoring in:
Public Health, Public Safety, or Education, each year. It is our intent that by
assisting these students, hopefully they too can make a positive impact on
peoples lives. The proceeds from the DDO are used solely to keep the
scholarship fund on going, and are not used for our general
operations.
In
addition to the scholarship fund we sponsor numerous programs each year
including the following:
- New
Years Eve family activity night
- Post
prom parties for high school students
- Dances
and activity nights for middle school students
- Educational workshops and recreational
programs for parents
- Family
movie, pizza and activity nights are sponsored on a regular basis
Last year
almost 4000 people attended these events. It is our hope that these programs,
along with other community efforts will help prevent alcohol and other drug
abuse in our area. It is through the generous support of businesses and other
organizations in the community that CAAD can continue to provide a vital
service.
Once
again, thank you for your support. Working together, I know we are making a
difference in our community. If you have any further questions, or are
interested in becoming a member of CAAD, please feel free to call
414-302-8070.
Sincerely,
Dean
